• The Sun reports today that ten people have been arrested over the killing of PC Keith Blakelock during the Broadwater Farm Estate riots of October 1985 and that CPS lawyers 'are studying an interim report into a new investigation'. To clarify: CPS lawyers have provided advice and guidance in relation to a number of evidential issues submitted by the police, whose enquiries are continuing. We are not in a position to say when we might receive a full file of evidence in relation to this case.
• The Legal Executive Journal highlights the recognition given to a CPS Associate Prosecutor for her work in developing the National Schools Project. Andrea Charity, of Derbyshire CPS, has been shortlisted in the Public Servant of the Year category of the women in public life awards. The project has also been shortlisted for the 'understanding and engaging with communities' award. Both are part of the Civil Service Diversity and Equality Awards.
